The blank page before the words begin.
I gaze at it.
You wouldn’t know I was here before the words appeared, but I was. And now I write these words as you read them.
Did you know that I also read them alongside you? I see this word, and this one too, in sync with your eyes and your mind. We share this page together, you and I. You see the progression of the sentence, the cadence, the staccato, the melody, the period, the same as I. When you look I too am looking.

Here’s the problem: I’m mortal.
My energy is limited; my time is limited.
It’s maddening!
More than that, as I get older, it leads to regret and a little panic. Hindsight reveals a mound of sand lost forever in the hourglass of life. Even if I could reach in there to retrieve a handful, it would certainly slip quickly through my fingers!
What am I to do?! I spent decades in the wilderness without God, only recently (eleven years ago) saying “Yes!” to Christ. Was it all Read more [...]
There are so many things on my mind today after a long and busy week. The lack of reflection time has backed up my thoughts like Friday afternoon traffic in Southern California. I've been on autopilot the last seven days, my thinking dominated mostly by bossy task masters -I just do their bidding. Now I need to know more about them, to reevaluate and investigate the intent and purpose of these cerebral residents that claim to speak for me and that also speak at me.
The idea is to sift through Read more [...]
What strikes me as different about professional mainstream atheists when compared to the average atheist, is that their adherence to atheism and their resistance to Theism (or at least Deism) is purely a matter of the will.
Oh, they claim it's a matter of reason and intellect, but that can’t be so.
Since they are smack dab in the middle of the debate between theism and atheism they are thoroughly exposed to both sides of the argument.
If they were intellectually honest and willing Read more [...]
I considered anger a useful emotion before I became a Christian. I could summon it at will and with ease, and depend upon it to provide many “benefits”. Following is a partial list:
1) It gave me “energy”
2) It gave me “confidence”
3) It gave me “power”
4) It gave me “dominance”
5) It superseded weakness
6) It superseded uncertainty
7) It superseded embarrassment
8) It superseded fear
9) Read more [...]
I took a photo of a Winston Churchill WWII quote on the wall of the airport when I returned home from CIA Sunday night that I believe applies to Christians today.
"It is no use saying 'we are doing our best'. You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary."
How many times have you heard someone say “I'm doing my best” as an excuse for failure? How many times have you said it?
The goal of “doing our best” would not have defeated the Germans and Japanese in World War II. The Read more [...]
My plane landed at the Charlotte airport 6:30 am Thursday morning. My plan to sleep the 5 hour flight from California to North Carolina was an utter failure. I grabbed my bag off the carousel, dashed to the shuttle, fired up the rental car and set my GPS for 3000 Tilley Morris Rd. I arrived with minutes to spare!
I settled myself in the back of the room so that I could get up, stand and pace to keep myself awake and engaged. Lack of sleep necessitated this strategy.

Anyone who knows me well understands the importance I place on Apologetics and my desire to make a difference in the lives of others through Apologetics.
I don’t know how large a role I can play, but I do know I have a part, and I'm determined to continually identify, better understand and execute that part faithfully, energetically and enthusiastically.
My passion is to share Apologetics with everyone and anyone who will hold still and listen! Especially non-believers, because I know most Read more [...]
Christians aren't saying it aloud. They aren't even saying it in the privacy and secrecy of their own minds. They ARE shouting it with their behavior!
How?
By avoiding the subject. Postponing. Putting it off. Excusing themselves with reasonable explanations (translation: rationalizations).
"Sometime next year. Life is too busy! I'll have time later! In the future!"
Or they blame the messengers and ignore the message, rationalizing their own disregard of the content by demonstrating "offense" Read more [...]
Recently I was invited to be a guest at a new church by two friends. After the service I cornered the pastor and asked him what part Apologetics played in his vision for the Church. He thought for a moment, then thoughtfully replied.
"Apologetics... that's where you reach out to non-believers with reasons for believing Christianity. There is a need for that, sure, but our emphasis here is to concentrate on supporting and strengthening the faith of those already in our congregation Read more [...]
