I took a photo of a Winston Churchill WWII quote on the wall of the airport when I returned home from CIA Sunday night that I believe applies to Christians today.
“It is no use saying ‘we are doing our best’. You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.”
How many times have you heard someone say “I’m doing my best” as an excuse for failure? How many times have you said it?
The goal of “doing our best” would not have defeated the Germans and Japanese in World War II. The Allies had “to succeed in doing what was necessary” to win the war -anything less would have meant our defeat.
As Christians we too are at war on multiple fronts. Can we win by “doing our best’? Or can we win only by succeeding “in doing what is necessary”?
What did Jesus do?
