I am frequently asked why the Bible doesn’t tell us about the dinosaurs. My short answer: for the same reason the Bible doesn’t tell us about the Pyramids or the Great Wall of China—they are irrelevant to the purpose of the scriptures! The Bible’s main theme is how God has entered history to redeem us from our sins, and its main purpose is to show you how to acquire that free gift of redemption and sanctification (2 Tim 3:14-17). It is not to tell you every aspect of history. In fact, no book could. All writing is selective in scope and content. Against the backdrop of all truth, what is left out of a book is always vastly more than what is put in.
