There are two types of faith and doubt.
There is faith based on logic and the facts at hand. There is faith in spite of the logic and facts at hand.
There is doubt based on logic and the facts at hand. There is doubt in spite of the logic and facts at hand.
As an Apologist I am always preparing to give an answer to everyone who asks me to give a reason for the hope that I have.
Apologists evangelize from their hearts to the hearts of others by the use of reason.
The key to Apologetics is reason.
The purpose of Apologetics is to free the hearts of those of other worldviews from the bondage of faith in a lie by the use of reason.
The purpose of Apologetics within the Christian worldview is to free hearts from the bondage of their doubt, by the use of reason.
The Christian worldview is either defensible or indefensible by reason, logic and facts.
The same process used to convince those on the other side of Salvation is the same used to strengthen and empower those on this side of Salvation.
Whether preaching to the choir or evangelizing to the world, we cannot address false doubt nor false faith without Apologetics.
Neither can we reinforce true doubt or true faith.
Let there be no mistake: denial of Apologetics’ critical role in evangelism is clearly a deliberate, conscious, willful choice to ignore the logic and facts at hand.
With devastating consequences.
Just look around.
